Isko says he wants to create more jobs first before ending endo
Presidential candidate and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno on Thursday said he wants to create more jobs first in order to end contractualization if he wins in Eleksyon 2022.
At Go Negosyo's KandidaTalks forum, Moreno said that he wants people to have jobs, and that many are suffering from hunger due to lack of jobs and livelihood amid COVID-19 pandemic.
“Kasi ang gusto ko ngayon makapagtrabaho ka muna. Create jobs. Four point two million walang ma chi-cha. Gutom ngayon as we speak kasi wala silang trabaho,” Moreno said.
(I want you to be able to work first. Create jobs. 4.2 million Filipinos are now in poverty. They are hungry now as we speak because they don't have jobs.)
“Ang gusto ko makapagtrabaho ka muna, may mapagharimunan muna kayo sa pamilya tapos maganda na buhay, umuunlad na negosyo, then I’ll try to make sense with businessmen na onti-onti nang bigyan ng kapanatagan ang mga empleyado na magkaroon na ng permanent na hanapbuhay,” he added.
(I want for you to be able to work first, have something to share with your family and then have a good life, a thriving business, then I'll try to make sense with businessmen to gradually give the employees peace of mind by giving them permanent jobs.)
Moreno said that the country must manage the crisis first, adding that it needs to be “very practical” in addressing issues.
“Ang magandang pangarap? Lahat permanente, that’s the best. But sa sitwasyon naman ngayon, eh kaysa mawalan ng trabaho yung iba, gusto ko lahat tayo nakakapamuhay muna, may napaghaharimunan ang pamilya, unawaan, tas focus lang. Focus. Then pagtawid natin, let’s talk again, let’s sit down. And create period on this,” he added.
(A good dream? All must be permanent, that’s the best. But in today's situation, instead of the others losing their jobs, I want all of us to be able to live first, the family has something to share, understand, just focus. Focus. Then let’s cross, let’s talk again, let’s sit down. And create a period on this.)
Meanwhile, Moreno said he would push for ending contractualization after the first two years of his term.
