Philippines logs 407 new COVID-19 cases, active tally at over 44K
The Philippines on Wednesday recorded 407 new COVID-19 cases, a little more than a hundred than the 290 recorded the day before.
The new cases brought the country's active case count to 44,597, according to the Department of Health (DOH)’s latest bulletin posted on its website.
The nationwide COVID-19 tally is now 3,675,384.
The DOH said a total of 3,572,224 patients recovered from the viral disease, while the number of deaths climbed to 58,563.
According to the Health department, the top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were the National Capital Region (NCR) with 1,962, followed by Region 4-A with 879 and Region 6 with 675.
At least 24.64% of the intensive care unit (ICU) beds for COVID-19 patients nationwide are in use.
Meanwhile, 22.04% of the country’s isolation beds were utilized, while 13.66% ward beds were in use.
The 290 new COVID-19 infections recorded on Tuesday was the lowest recorded daily tally for 2022. —NB, GMA News
