Serapio on unfulfilled promises for PHL: May sumpa ba tayo?
Vice presidential candidate Carlos Serapio said that since 1966, various leaders have laid out programs to make the Philippines a better and more prosperous nation, but this goal remained unfulfilled.
“Bakit hindi nangyayari, may sumpa ba tayo?" Serapio said on Sunday's vice presidential debates organized by the Commission on Elections.
“Sa palagay ko po ay wala, kundi dapat lang kilalanin natin ang kapangyarihan na nasa ating mga nakaluklok sa ating kalooban. Kilalanin natin na mayroong Diyos na siya ang magbibigay ng liwanag sa atin para nang sa gayon malalaman natin paano natin tatahakin ang kinabukasan," he added.
Serapio said that from 1966 to 1986, Filipinos were made to dream of new society, but this did not happen, with some people blaming it on EDSA People Power, which toppled the Marcos dictatorship.
From 1998 to 2020, he said the 2020 Vision was set for the country to turn into a tiger economy. Due to the financial crisis, he said the goal was not reached.
In 2016, the AmBisyon 2040 also aims for a better society, Serapio said.—LDF, GMA News
