More than 400 deadly weapons confiscated, 500 'kubols' demolished in Bilibid —BuCor

The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said more than 400 deadly weapons were confiscated and 500 huts or "kubols" were demolished during clearing operations inside the New Bilibid Prison's (NBP) maximum security compound on Friday. 

The kubols that were demolished were in the west quadrant of the maximum security compound, BuCor spokesperson Gabriel Chaclag said, according to a report by Jhomer Apresto on Super Radyo dzBB.

BuCor said the kubols are allegedly being used by persons deprived of liberty (PDL) in storing deadly weapons and other contraband items.

During the demolition, BuCor personnel also confiscated some cellphones.

Chaclag said the affected PDLs were transferred to the newly renovated building inside the NBP. —KG, GMA News
