Philippines logs 4,131 new COVID-19 cases from March 7–13, 2022
The Philippines on Monday reported a total of 4,131 new COVID-19 cases from March 7 to March 13, 35% lower than the cases recorded last week.
According to the DOH, the daily average for the week was 590.
There were 554 new cases logged on Monday, the DOH said in a later update, bringing the nationwide tally to 3,671,293.
Data also showed that 1,006 severe and critical cases are currently admitted. Of 3,598 ICU beds, 19.6% are occupied while 17.2% of non-ICU COVID-19 beds are in use.
Of the new cases this week, only three are severe or critical cases.
Meanwhile, more than 64.5 million individuals or 71.71% of the government’s target population are also fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
The DOH said 11.1 million have received their booster shots.
There are also 6.5 million senior citizens or 74.87% of the target A2 population have also received their primary vaccine series.
According to the DOH, there were also 591 verified deaths last week.
Of the 591 deaths, 115 occurred in March 2022 (19.5%), 164 in February 2022 (27.7%), 95 in January 2022 (16.1%), 8 in December 2021 (1.4%), 6 in November 2021 (1.0%), 15 in October 2021 (2.5%), 40 in September 2021 (6.8%), 23 in August 2021 (3.9%), 19 in July 2021 (3.2%), 16 in June 2021 (2.7%), 3 in May 2021 (0.5%), 10 in April 2021 (1.7%), 6 in March 2021 (1.0%), 1 in February 2021 (0.2%), 2 in January 2021 (0.3%), 15 in December 2020 (2.5%), 7 in November 2020 (1.2%), 9 in October 2020 (1.5%), 11 in September 2020 (1.9%), 16 in August 2020 (2.7%), 6 in July 2020 (1.0%), 1 in June 2020 (0.2%), 2 in May 2020 (0.3%), and 1 in March 2020 (0.2%) due to late encoding of death information to COVIDKaya. — with Giselle Ombay/BM, GMA News
