Philippines logs 564 new COVID-19 infections; active tally at 46,537


The Philippines on Sunday logged 564 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the nationwide tally to 3,670,739.

The country’s active case count stood at 46,537, according to data posted on the Department of Health’s (DOH) website.

At least 3,566,592 people have been counted as recoveries, while the death toll climbed to 57,610.

Latest data showed that 24.64% out of the 3,701 total intensive care unit (ICU) beds for COVID-19 patients nationwide were in use.

At least 22.04% of the country’s 20,773 isolation beds were utilized, while 13.66% of the 14,037 ward beds nationwide were in use.

Meanwhile, in the National Capital Region (NCR), at least 24.68% of the 1,256 ICU beds were occupied. 21.44% of the region’s 4,613 isolation beds and 24.12% of the 3,943 ward beds were utilized.

The regions with the most cases in the past two weeks were the National Capital Region with 2,307 infections, Region 4-A with 1,253, and Region 6 with 903.

A total of 20,598 individuals were tested as of March 12, with 293 laboratories being able to submit data. — BM, GMA News
