Philippines welcomes over 1M doses of Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines for children
The Philippines welcomed on Thursday a total of 1,056,000 doses of reformulated Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children.
According to the National Task Force (NTF) against COVID-19, the latest batch of government-procured vaccines through World Bank arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 past 8 p.m.
The country earlier received 1,056,000 doses of reformulated Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for the pediatric age group and 128,700 doses for adults on Wednesday night.
The COVID-19 vaccination for 5 to 11 years old in the country started in the National Capital Region last February 7.
Based on the latest data from the National COVID-19 Vaccination Dashboard, a total of 137,351,822 doses were administered, with over 63 million individuals fully vaccinated as of March 9.
The government is eyeing to fully vaccinate 77 million Filipinos against COVID-19 by the end of March, and 90 million by the time President Rodrigo Duterte steps down from office on June 30.
