Luke Espiritu spars with Gadon, Roque over Marcos ill-gotten wealth, Martial Law
A televised senatorial debate got intense as Partido Lakas ng Masa senatorial bet Luke Espiritu demolished the statements of fellow senatorial bets Harry Roque and Larry Gadon about the Marcos family and Martial Law, according to a “24 Oras” report.
“Palagi na lang pino-point out ‘yung human rights violations ni Marcos. …We should not use this forum for a propaganda against the Marcoses,” Gadon said.
“’Pag binuksan mo ang usapan, ‘wag mo akong pagbawalan,” Espiritu rebutted. “I go by the record of Amnesty International –3,257 ang pinatay noong panahon ni Marcos.”
Gadon, however, tried to interrupt Espiritu, which earned the latter’s ire.
“It’s my time, ‘wag kang bastos,” Espiritu told Gadon.
Espiritu also sparred with Roque when the latter claimed Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. had no criminal record in the United States.
“…Kung anuman ang nangyari sa nakaraan, inisa-isa ko ang record, walang record sa America si Bongbong Marcos Jr.,” Roque said.
To this, Espiritu retorted: “With all due respect …I know your history, you were anti-Marcos before, you were for human rights before.”
Both Roque and Gadon are running under the slate of Marcos and running mate Sara Duterte.—LDF, GMA News
