David to keep watch on Marcos Jr. if they win in Eleksyon 2022; Tito, Kiko push for bets

Vice presidential aspirant Rizalito David said he would use his post as vice president keep watch on the presidency if Ferdinand Marcos Jr. wins in Eleksyon 2022.

In a vice presidential debate put together by CNN Philippines, David adverted to what he called his advocacy against abuse and corrupion when asked what he would do if he became vice president under a Marcos presidency.

“’Yun lang naman ang pwede nating gawin kapag nagsalita na ang taong bayan kung si Bongbong Marcos ang mananalo which is very sad, eh wala na tayong magagawa d'on babantayan na lang natin kung ano ang gagawin niya," David said.

"Kapag siya ay nang-abuso, gagamitin natin yung Office of the Vice President para siya ay kumbaga labanan sa kanyang pang-aabuso,” he added.

(That is all we can do, when Bongbong Marcos wins which is very sad, we can’t do anything so we’ll just watch what he does. If he is abusive, we will use the Office of the Vice President so that we can fight his abusive actions.)

David is currently the executive director of Pro-Life Philippines Foundation.

Vice presidential bet and Senate President Vicente Sotto III said he was not considering the thought of serving under another presidential bet other than his running-mate, Senator Panfilo Lacson.

“I have not given it a thought. In my sphere, we are working on the presidency of Senator Lacson. So, ‘di ko naiisip ‘yon (I am not thinking about that),” Sotto said when asked what will be his working relationship Marcos if both won in Eleksyon 2022.

He then vowed to use his competence and his experience in public service in dealing with the issues of the country in the next six years.

“Kung saka-sakaling kami ay palarin, bigyan kami ng pagkakataon, I will use my experience and my competence in facing and addressing issues of national concern,” Sotto said.

(If we are given the chance to serve, I will use my experience and competence in facing and addressing issues of national concern.)

“After 30 years, sa palagay ko naman ay nakahanda ako dito so ganoon ang aking thinking e. Wala akong iniisip na kung iba ang mananalo at this point,” he added.

Vice presidential candidate Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan pushed for the candidacy of his standard bearer, Vice President Leni Robredo.

"Kaya ang hiling natin sa ating mga botante ay suportahan 'yung Leni-Kiko tandem para di magulo, para nagkakaisa ang presidente at bise-presidente, 'yan ang pinakamainam para sa tapat na gobyerno at iaangat natin ang lahat," Pangilinan said at the CNN Vice Presidential debate.

Still, Pangilinan reiterated that he would focus on the agriculture and food security sector.

"Having said that, tayo magtratrabaho tayo para sa mga magsasaka at mangingisda, for food security, anuman ang maging resulta ng halalan... kung tayo ay palarin," Pangilinan said.

(After 30 years, I guess I am prepared. That’s my thinking. At this point, I am no thinking of the possibility of serving with another bet who might win the presidency.) —Richa Alyssa Noriega, Hana Bordey, and Anna Felicia Bajo/NB, GMA News
