DTI eyes proposing removal of plastic dividers in establishments

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will be proposing the removal of plastic covers or barriers inside establishments as part of the COVID-19 protocols that businesses need to comply with.

“Isa pang kino-consider na pagtanggal, whether mag-move tayo sa Alert Level 1 o hindi, ay yung mga acylic barriers,” Trade Secretary Ramon Lopez said in an interview on Dobol B TV on Wednesday.

(Among those being considered to be removed, whether we shift to Alert Level 1 or not, is the acrylic barriers.)

“Pwede na tanggalin ‘yan, ipo-propose natin sa IATF [Inter-Agency Task Force],” he said.

(We will propose to the IATF that the plastic barriers be removed.)

The Trade chief said the Omicron variant is airborne, plastic barriers can be removed, adding that people inside establishments should observe minimum health protocols such as wearing of face masks, physical distancing, and hand-washing and sanitizing. —LBG, GMA News
