Palacio del Gobernador's lights colors will be changed –Jimenez
Commission on Elections spokesman Director James Jimenez said Friday that the lights at the Palacio del Gobernador in Intramuros, Manila will be changed, after criticisms on the pattern that appears to be red and green.
Red and green are the campaign colors of presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and his running mate, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte, respectively.
Jimenez clarified that the Comelec is just renting in the building.
"Palacio del Gobernador is not a Comelec building, nagrerenta lang po kami dito."
"Pero [the concern] has been brought to our attention by a netizen and we felt that's something we could do right away so nakikipag-coordinate po kami sa Intramuros administration and I think they have consent to changing the lights. It's nothing [no big deal]," Jimenez told reporters.
Asked what colors will be placed, Jimenez said: "Hindi ko alam but they're gonna take down the Christmas colors."
On Twitter, investigative journalist Raissa Robles asked poll body to explain the choice of colors on the building that houses the Comelec.
So @COMELEC @radyocomelec @jabjimenez Can u explain the choice of red and green colors on a public building, please? Is this where your office is? pic.twitter.com/sYaLzaELuH

Jimenez also responded on the tweet and said: "The COMELEC is a tenant in that building, which is under the management of Office of the President. I have been told that the building’s administration is planning to swap out these ones for differently colored lights." —LBG, GMA News
