NCR now at low risk for COVID-19 transmission –OCTA
The National Capital Region (NCR) is now classified as “low risk” for COVID-19 transmission as the situation in the region continues to improve, according to independent monitoring group OCTA Research on Wednesday.
In a tweet, OCTA fellow Dr. Guido David said the reproduction number in the NCR decreased to 0.25.
The reproduction number refers to the number of people infected by one case. A reproduction number below 1 indicates that the transmission of the virus is slowing down.
As predicted two weeks ago, NCR improves to low risk as of February 9, 2022. The reproduction number in the NCR decreased to 0.25 while hospital utilization improved to 29.6%, less than 30%.
