Abella vows 'new Philippines' as he kicks off presidential campaign

Presidential candidate Ernesto Abella on Wednesday launched his campaign in Dasmariñas City, Cavite.

During his proclamation rally at the Presbyterian Theological Seminary, Abella said he would address corruption and poverty if elected.

“Yun po talaga ang gusto ko, bagong Pilipinas, na kung saan ang mga tao ay namumuhay na makatarungan, mapayapa, at masaya [That’s what I want, a new Philippines, where people live with justice, peace, and happiness],” he said.

“Let me plant in your spirit a seed of a new Philippines,” he added.

Abella, former spokesperson of President Rodrigo Duterte, also expressed openness in working with other presidential candidates who prioritize the interests of the country.

“I can work with all other presidentiables. I can work with them. I can invite them. I can invite Ping [Lacson, senator]. I can work with him. I can work with Leni [Robredo, vice president]. I can work with anybody who is willing to put the Philippines first,” he said.

Abella’s campaign launch opened with a caravan from Bonifacio Drive in Tagaytay City and Molino Boulevard in Bacoor City at 7:30 a.m.

Also included in the program were prayer and worship. —KBK, GMA News
