Pacquiao's presidential campaign takes off in hometown GenSan
Presidential candidate Senator Manny Pacquiao on Tuesday launched his campaign with a motorcade in his hometown General Santos City.
According to Pacquiao’s media team, around 580 vehicles have participated in the caravan, which started around 1 p.m.
Supporters who joined the caravan came from Sarangani, Maguindanao, and South Cotabato.
From Barangay Bawing, the caravan traversed other barangays of Tambler, Calumpang, Labangal, Silway, and Dadiangas West.
The caravan ended at the Oval Plaza Grandstand where the proclamation rally of Pacquiao and his runningmate Lito Atienza will be held at 3 p.m.
According to Pacquiao’s team, the senatorial candidates who will be present are broadcaster Raffy Tulfo and ex-Eastern Samar governor Lutgardo Barbo, who joined the senator during the motorcade.
Senator Win Gatchalian will be represented by partner, beauty queen and actress Bianca Manalo.
Other candidates under Pacquiao’s slate are set to give a video message during the rally including Senator Richard Gordon, House Deputy Speaker Loren Legarda, Sorsogon Governor Chiz Escudero, former vice president Jejomar Binay and former senator JV Ejercito.—LDF, GMA News
