PNP identifies persons of interest behind missing ‘sabungeros’
The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday said that it has identified some persons of interest linked to the disappearance of 26 cockfight enthusiasts from different areas.
Interviewed on Dobol B TV, PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo said the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group obtained some evidence like CCTV footage.
“Meron na po tayong mga person of interest na tinututukan po ang mga imbestigador natin sa pangunguna ng CIDG,” she said.
(We already have persons of interests whom our investigators, led by the CIDG, were looking into.)
Also, the investigators already talked to the management of the concerned cockpit arenas and their security personnel.
The PNP initially reported an incident involving four men who were reported missing after participating in a cockfight game in Sta. Cruz, Laguna on January 13.
That same day, six men also went missing after participating in a cockfighting tournament in Manila.
When the CIDG investigation started, more reports of missing cockfight enthusiasts came in like the 10 individuals in Bulacan who disappeared eight months ago and also went to the same arena in Sta. Cruz. — Joviland Rita/RSJ, GMA News
