PNP COVID-19 tally now at 48,589 with 25 new infections


The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday reported 25 new cases of COVID-19 among its personnel, bringing the total infections in the police force to 48,589.

Based on the PNP data, a total of 47,814 have already recovered from the disease while 648 are active cases. The death toll due to COVID-19 remained at 127.

Meanwhile, a total of 218,901 (97.34%) of PNP personnel are already fully vaccinated against COVID-19; 5,125 (2.28%) are still awaiting their second dose; and 95,736 (43.73%) have received booster shots.

According to the PNP, 864 (0.38%) personnel have yet to be vaccinated.

On Sunday, the Philippines reported 8,361 new COVID-19 cases, pushing the country's total case count to 3,609,568. Of the number, 126,227 are active cases.

With 312 new fatalities, the death toll in the country rose to 54,526. —Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA News
