Leni-Kiko tandem vows to allocate P50-B annually for 6 years for social housing
The tandem of Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan has vowed to allocate P50 billion every year for six years to provide social housing.
In a covenant signing with the urban poor community, Robredo and Pangilinan said if they win the 2022 elections, they vowed to allocate funding of P50 billion annually for every six years to fast track housing projects. They will also look into the standards and regulations to rid housing projects of corruption.

Free housing
As urban poor are the most at risk in calamities and the pandemic, Robredo and Pangilinan also vowed to make housing free in National Housing Authority (NHA) resettlement sites to help communities focus on earning money from their respective jobs.

Further, demolition events will also be suspended if the housing projects are not yet finished.
Urban poor groups will also be represented in every housing project, as indicated in the covenant.
Also, under the covenant, red tape in housing projects will also be prevented.
The covenant was signed by Robredo and Pangilinan, Leni Urban Poor Council, and several urban poor groups. —NB, GMA News
