Lacson discloses positions on contractualization, mining ban, FOI

Presidential aspirant and Senator Panfilo Lacson revealed his stand on key issues including ending contractualization, mining ban, and passage of a Freedom of Information (FOI) law.

On The Mangahas Interviews on Saturday, Lacson agreed that the Anti-Terrorism Act and National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) should stay.

On possible joint exploration with China in the West Philippine Sea, Lacson said he will allow it as long as it is in compliance with the 1987 Constitution.

He also supports the introduction of same-sex civil unions in the Philippines as part of his push for gender equality.

Lacson is also in favor of letting the Philippines rejoin the International Criminal Court (ICC).

On ending contractualization, Lacson said workers must be given a security of tenure.

He said he was not in favor of the “no vaccine, no ride” policy, adding that it should be further studied and supported by scientific data.

His positions on other issues are as follows:

Ban on political dynasty – Yes
Mining ban - No (must be qualified)
Release of Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALN) - Yes
FOI - Yes
