Joel Villanueva tests positive for COVID-19

Senator Joel Villanueva on Friday bared that he tested positive for COVID-19.

In a statement sent to reporters, Villanueva said he received the result of his RT-PCR test on Thursday night. He said he had experienced fever and headache last Wednesday.

Villanueva said he already informed his close contacts that he contracted the virus.

"Inabisuhan ko na po ang lahat ng aking nakasalamuha noong mga nagdaang araw tungkol sa aking kalagayan, at kasalukuyan po tayong naka-isolate," Villanueva said.

Villanueva said he is confident that he will immediately recover given that he is fully-vaccinated and he already received his booster shot.

"Dahil bakunado at boosted po tayo, at sa tulong ng panalangin sa Diyos, malaki po ang tiwala ko na malalampasan natin itong balakid na magpatuloy ang trabaho natin sa Senado," he said. — RSJ, GMA News
