No extension for PITX COVID-19 vaccination drive —DOTr official

There will be not extension of the COVID-19 vaccination drive at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX), Department of Transportation Undersecretary Artemio Tuazon Jr. said Friday.

Interviewed on GMA News’ "Unang Balita," Tuazon said this is because their vaccinators in PITX were from the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), who have other commitments after this drive.

“Baka hindi po muna namin i-extend sa PITX kasi ang ginagamit nating vaccinators dito ay yung mga vaccinators ng  MMDA. Meron po silang mga commitment after the PITX vaccination period,” he said.

The vaccination drive at PITX started on January 24 and will close this Friday, January 28.

Tuazon said the PITX vaccination drive served an average of around 250 persons every day.

Earlier, it was reported that the target daily recipients in the vaccination site was at 500. 

According to Tuazon, they are coordinating with the MMDA to open more vaccination sites in other locations. —LBG, GMA News
