Duterte’s info on ‘most corrupt’ presidentiable could be a basis for criminal charges — Lacson spox

President Rodrigo Duterte’s information on the alleged “most corrupt” presidential candidate could be a basis for filing of charges if grounded on facts and evidence.

This was argued by Ashley Acedillo, the spokesman of presidential aspirant and Senator Panfilo Lacson on Wednesday.

Right now, Acedillo said Lacson’s camp will wait for Duterte’s revelations and his perception of different candidates running for the country’s top post in 2022.

“If grounded on facts and evidence, this will be helpful to the voters still on the fence as to who to vote for, while allowing others to change their minds if they feel their chosen candidates are wanting either in integrity, capability or potential,” he said.

“Curiously, shouldn't the same facts and evidence on a particular candidate - especially if pertaining to potential corrupt or criminal conduct - be a basis for pursuing a case in the Sandiganbayan or our regular courts? Abangan,” he added.

In pre-recorded Talk to the People aired Tuesday, Duterte said he would bare who among the presidentiables is the “most corrupt” as well as who is too inexperienced to be president.

Duterte had said that all presidential bets have issues except maybe for one, and that he cannot afford to sit idly in such a situation. — Hana Bordey/RSJ, GMA News
