Isko Moreno vows to create more jobs, livelihood for Pinoys amid COVID-19 pandemic
Presidential aspirant and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno on Saturday vowed to prioritize creation of more jobs and livelihood for Filipinos amid the COVID-19 pandemic if he wins presidency in the May 2022 polls.
Moreno said he will also continue the Duterte administration’s Build Build Build program, adding that he will also build more schools, hospitals, and housing.
“Buhay, kabuhayan, trabaho, 'yan lang. Diyan lang iikot 'yong first 2 years of 6 years. Itatawid natin 'yong tao makaraos tayo sa pandemyang ito. Maraming nawalan ng trabaho and I hope we can create more jobs the way we did in Manila,” he said during the Jessica Soho The Presidential Interviews on Saturday.
(I will prioritize life, livelihood, and work, that's all. That's where the first 2 years of 6 years will go. Many lost their jobs and I hope we can create more jobs the way we did in Manila.)
“Yung Build, Build, Build, we will continue that kasi bayad na ng buwis ng tao 'yan eh (the money came from the taxes of the people). But in our case we will continue to Build, Build, Build, but build more schools, build more hospitals, build more housing to generate more jobs,” he added.
He vowed to provide basic governance for the people in the next two years to improve the quality of life among Filipinos during COVID-19 threat.
“Ang maaasahan nila sa'kin ay basic governance, buhay at kabuhayan in the next 2 years, maitawid lang ang bawat pamilyang Pilipino,” he added.
(What they can expect from me is basic governance, life and livelihood in the next 2 years, every Filipino family can live and survive.)
Moreno is running for president under the Aksyon Demokratiko party in the May 2022 polls. He filed his certificate of candidacy for president with the Commission on Elections last October 4. — RSJ, GMA News
