Lacson, Moreno, Pacquiao, Robredo face the Jessica Soho Presidential Interviews

GMA News gave a sneak peak of the answers of four aspirants for the top post in the upcoming May elections on Jessica Soho Presidential Interviews to be aired over the weekend.

The much-awaited conversation with the aspirants will air on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 6:15 p.m on GMA Network.

It will stream via the Eleksyon 2022 website (eleksyon2022.ph) on GMA News Online and GMA Public Affairs’ YouTube channel, Twitter, and TikTok accounts, along with other social media accounts by GMA News and Public Affairs.

It will also be simulcast on the GMA Network’s flagship international channel, GMA Pinoy TV available worldwide – US, Canada, Middle East, North Africa, Europe and the Asia-Pacific, simulcast on radio via the flagship AM station Super Radyo DZBB 594khz and all its Super Radyo stations nationwide.

In a “24 Oras” report, Soho asked Senator Panfilo Lacson if he can look at people straight in the eye and say he did not violate any human rights law.

“Right now, I’m looking at you straight in the eye, Jessica.  Napatunayan ng korte na talagang wala akong kinalaman,” Lacson replied.

When Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was asked to address criticisms of being a “trapo” or traditional politician, he said, “No. I’m the president of a local party.  Iyong local party namin ang nagdesisyon kung sino ang sasamahan namin na party.”

Senator Manny Pacquiao was reminded that while he staunchly fights corruption, he faced cases for alleged tax deficiencies.

“Nung pumasok ako sa politika ay naging issue po ‘yan dahil ginamit ng mga kalaban ko, pero kumpleto po tayo sa papeles dyan,” Pacquiao said.

Vice President Leni Robredo was asked to react about people not seeing value in her lugaw campaign.

“Kaya lang naman ‘yon nadikit sa akin kasi noong 2016 na tumakbo ako, wala rin akong resources.  Iyong mga volunteers namin, ito ang ginawang fund raising activities,” Robredo said.

Former senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. begged off from the interview.

Soho said the interviews will give the public a glimpse of the platforms of the presidential aspirants and stance on issues such as war on drugs and the maritime dispute with China, among others, to help them make their choice on Eleksyon 2022. —LDF, GMA News
