Comelec: Ballot printing for local absentee voting to start Jan. 20 night
The printing of official local absentee voting (LAV) ballots will start on Thursday night, Commission on Elections (Comelec) spokesperson James Jimenez said.
In a tweet, Jimenez said about 60,000 ballots will be printed at the National Printing Office.
"LAV ballots are manual ballots, so there will be no preprinted candidate names," he said.
Earlier, Comelec said over 67 million official ballots for the 2022 national and local elections will be printed.
The poll body assured that security personnel are guarding the NPO while the printing of the ballots are underway.
Personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, and the organic security of the Comelec are deployed at the NPO compound.
