Teachers, staff to receive performance-based bonus for 2020 — DepEd
The Department of Education (DepEd) on Thursday said its teachers and non-teaching personnel will receive their performance-based bonus (PBB) for Fiscal Year 2020.
This is after the Inter-Agency Task Force on the Harmonization of National Government Performance Monitoring, Information and Reporting Systems assessed the department as eligible for the incentive.
“School-based personnel are eligible for the grant of the FY 2020 PBB subject to the result of DepEd’s school-level results-based performance management system for 2020,” it said.
“With DepEd confirmed eligible by the AO25 IATF, the Department of Budget and Management will facilitate the release of the bonuses,” it added.
The school-based personnel will be the first to receive their bonuses, the DepEd said.
“The amount will depend on the performance of each employee and the unit that he/she belongs to. There are three classifications of performances—good, better and best,” DepEd Undersecretary Annalyn Sevilla told GMA News Online in a message.
DepEd personnel in “best performance” classification will receive a bonus worth 65% of their salary, 57.5% for “better performance,” and 50% for “good performance.”
Asked about when the bonus will be released, Sevilla said DBM will release the allotment to the regional offices with complete requirements for release.
“So ROs need to submit the ranking/list of PBB per employee to DBM so DBM can review/validate it and release funds to the accounts of the depEd regional offices,” she said.
The DBM will download the funds to its regional offices then directly release them to DepEd’s regional offices and school division offices to the respective personnel eligible for the grant of PBB. — Joviland Rita/RSJ, GMA News
