Damaged ramp at Matnog Port leaves trucks, motorists stranded

A total of 567 trucks and 157 light  vehicles were reported stranded on Thursday after an adjustable ramp of a shipping line got damaged in Sorsogon's Matnog Port.

Queues of trucks grew long, stretching almost four kilometers from the port, according to an "Unang Balita" report on Thursday.

The Matnog Police said the damaged ramp has limited the number of ships' trips.

Some drivers have been lining up for two weeks on end, and have been complaining about some stranded people jumping the line through the help of fixers.

According to them, fixers demand payments from drivers who want to get to the front of the line to hasten trucks boarding process unto ships.

Authorities urged complainants to report the alleged fixers. —LBG, GMA News
