168,000 J&J COVID-19 vaccine doses donated by US arrive
A total of 168,000 doses of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine arrived in the Philippines on Tuesday afternoon.
The vaccine shipment arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 past 4 p.m.
The single-shot vaccines, manufactured by J&J subsidiary Janssen Pharmaceuticals, were donated by the United States and sent to the Philippines through the global vaccine-sharing COVAX facility.
The Philippines has so far administered 114,249,221 vaccine doses.
At least 52 million Filipinos have been fully vaccinated.
Meanwhile, at least 3.5 million individuals have received their booster shots.
The country has so far recorded 3,026,473 COVID-19 cases, including 2,792,946 recoveries and 52,511 deaths. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
