Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines Archbishop Charles Brown on Christmas Day visited Siargao Island after it was badly hit by Typhoon Odette (Rai).

As seen in some photos, the parish's roof partially collapsed when Odette struck the island.
But the debris was cleared in time for the Christmas Eve Mass.
Siargao Island residents are appealing for help over a week after typhoon severely pummeled the area.
The typhoon has left a wide cover of destruction -- as it wrecked houses and infrastructures, and toppled trees in the towns of General Luna and Dapa on Siargao Island in its onslaught. —LBG, GMA News
