Pangilinan: Time to reform Philippines' political party system
Senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan said he wants to reform the political party system in the Philippines to prevent "turncoatism" or changing of parties.
"Dahil hindi dapat nagpapalit ng partido na parang nagpapalit ng damit," Pangilinan said in an interview on The Mangahas Interviews.
He said there should be an anti-turncoatism law.
He said shifting parties was the reason the Liberal Party became a "habal-habal party" from being the largest party in the time of the late President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III.
"Bakit naubos? Dahil mahina ang ating political party system," Pangilinan said.
Prinsipyo? Nawala na at 'yon ang dapat baguhin," he added.—LDF, GMA News
