The areas most affected by Odette were northeastern Mindanao, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, and Palawan, Timbal said.

A total of 20,102 houses were totally damaged and 34,681 were partially damaged due to the impact of Odette, according to Timbal.

Over P14.5 million worth of assistance has been provided to affected people.

Timbal said the NDRRMC has yet to verify reports on alleged looting incidents in the typhoon-hit areas.

The power supply and telecommunication sectors have committed to speed up the restoration of their services.

Some telco companies established mobile emergency cell sites in different communities so victims can communicate to their relatives that they are safe.

Interviewed on ANC, Armed Forces of the Philippines spokesperson Colonel Ramon Zagala said the military is focusing on Siargao and Dinagat Islands in providing transport assistance.

He said the ADP will use their aircraft, vessels, and boats to transport locally stranded people and relief goods in these “isolated areas.”

According to Zagala, C130 and C295 aircraft as well as the BRP Tarlac will be used for their relief operations.

Based on NDRRMC’s report on Sunday, four people were confirmed dead due to Odette. The NDRRMC said 27 more reports of fatalities are still being validated.
