Nurses United, other party-lists delisted due to defective application —Comelec exec
Commission on Elections Commissioner Rowena Guanzon on Wednesday said the applications for accreditation of Nurses United and other party-list groups were denied by the poll body due to several defects.
Guanzon issued the statement a day after the poll body conducted the raffle for the order of qualified party-list groups on the ballot for Eleksyon 2022.
"I feel for Nurses United, but their petition was dismissed because of several defects. The same for Ang Ladlad," Guanzon said in a Twitter post.
"The usual defects are lacking in consent of all members, no manifestation of intent to participate in 2022 elections, etc.," she added.

Likewise, Guanzon said that the 1 TESDA party-list group was also delisted since it used the name of a government agency.
"We denied [the accreditation of] 1 TESDA because it used the name of a government agency and will confuse voters, give unfair advantage," Guanzon said.

TESDA is the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
"TESDA, in fact, sent its opposition and lawyer," she added.
There are 166 party-list groups seeking to secure seats in the House of Representatives in Eleksyon 2022.
With that many options, Guanzon said that the voters have to be told by the Electoral Board that the party-list groups are listed at the back of the ballot and that they can only choose one among the 166.
Last week, Nurses United Party-list and Guardians Party-list protested in front of the Comelec main office in Intramuros, Manila to decry the denial of their accreditation.
Comelec earlier said it rejected the motions for reconsideration filed by 107 party-list groups. —KG, GMA News
