Philippines receives over 1 million doses of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine

The Philippines received an additional 1,082,250 doses of government-procured Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday night.

According to the National Task Force (NTF) Against COVID-19, the latest batch of vaccine doses landed at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 past 9 p.m.

Assistant Secretary Wilben Mayor, head of the NTF’s strategic communications on current operations, thanked the United States government for the delivery of the fresh batch of vaccine doses.

He also expressed gratitude to the health workers and local government units (LGUs) for their efforts in the three-day national vaccination drive from November 29 to December 1.

“For the past three days ay nakapagpabakuna po tayo ng almost 7.6 million. Sa ngayon po base sa latest data natin ay meron na tayong almost 55 million na first dose representing almost 71.8% sa target population ng ating buong bansa,” he said.
