Quiboloy to accusers: I forgive them all

Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Pastor Apollo Quiboloy said he is forgiving his accusers as he faces sex trafficking charges in the United States.

“I forgive all my detractors. I forgive all those betrayals. I forgive all the traitors. I forgive all of those who have come to see the truth and turn their back on it. I forgive all of it,” Quiboloy said in a report by Tina Panganiban-Perez on "24 Oras."

In 2020, Quiboloy was acquitted of rape and sexual abuse allegations due to lac of evidence.

The Department of Justice revealed there is no extradition request yet filed by the U.S. Embassy in connection with his case.

“Ang pinakamahalagang tandaan diyan, ‘yung offense charged in the U.S. is also punishable dito sa Pilipinas under our laws. Ang requirement diyan ay punishable by at least one year imprisonment,” Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said.

“So, kung magkaroon na ng decision ‘yung Philippine Court na dapat ma-extradite, then, it will render a decision. And, if that decision becomes final, ite-turn over natin o isu-surrender natin sa ating counterparts in the U.S. ‘yung person of the accused,” he added.

Guevarra also added that the pending appeal on Quiboloy’s rape and sexual abuse cases in 2020 will not have any bearing on the possible extradition.

Meanwhile, presidential aspirant Senator Christopher “Bong” Go was mum on the matter.

“I cannot speak in behalf of the president. Magkaibigan sila ni Pangulong Duterte, at nandiya-diyaan po si pangulo to give moral support,” Go said. —Jiselle Anna Casucian/LDF, GMA News
