Duterte appoints Nograles as acting Palace spokesperson

President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday said Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles will temporarily replace former spokesperson Harry Roque, who stepped down from the post after joining the senatorial race for Eleksyon 2022.

In his pre-recorded Talk to the People, Duterte was discussing Roque's senatorial candidacy with Nograles.

"Alam mo once you file your certificate of candidacy, automatic 'yan out ka na sa gobyerno. No other formal ritual is needed," said Duterte.

(It is automatic, once you file a COC, you are out of the government.)

To which, Duterte asked Nograles to take Roque's post until he finds a new Palace spokesperson.

"So kung maari, ikaw (Nograles) na lang sana ang acting na muna until we find a replacement. I don't want to burden you with so much. Alam ko ang paper work dadaan sayo," Duterte told Nograles.

(If it will be allowed, Nograles, please be the acting spokesman first until we find a replacement. I know that this paperwork will be given to you.)
