Sale of fake vaccination cards punishable by law –CIDG

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group said on Sunday that those who sold fake COVID-19 vaccination cards may be jailed from 6 months to 2 years under the Revised Penal Code.

In his interview on Super Radyo dzBB, CIDG Director Police Major General Albert Ignatius Ferro explained that falsification of documents was illegal following reports of forged cards being sold to unvaccinated individuals.

“‘Yung sa pekeng vaccination card ay paiigtingin natin yung pagsawata sa mga nananamantala dahil yan ay punishable ng batas,” he said.

(We will heighten our campaign to thwart those who forge vaccination cards as this is punishable by law.)

Under Article 172, a private individual who falsifies documents would be fined not more than P5,000, aside from jail time.

Aside from this, Ferro said the CIDG was also on a nationwide lookout for those who would sell illegal and overpriced medicines used to treat COVID-19 patients such as tocilizumab and remdesivir. — DVM, GMA News
