15 Philippine schools land on 2022 QS ranking of best Asian universities


Fifteen Philippine universities landed among the best higher education institutions (HEI) in Asia in the 2022 university rankings of think tank Quacquarelli Symonds (QS).

The number eclipsed the country's turnout in last year's list, where 14 Philippine universities made the cut. That was the nation's best performance in the rankings, according to Commission on Higher Education (CHED) chairman Prospero De Vera III.

The University of the Philippines remains on top after placing 77th out of 687 institutions, followed by Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU), De La Salle University (DLSU), and University of Santo Tomas (UST).

  • Lyceum of the Philippines University (651+)

UP fell eight spots from last year, while ADMU, DLSU, and UST climbed several spots higher.

Mainland China took the most spots in the 2022 list with 126 universities, while India and Japan came in second and third.
