MMDA names Artes as new general manager

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority on Tuesday named Atty. Romando "Don" Artes as its new general manager.

In a statement, the MMDA said Artes replaced Jojo Garcia who resigned from his post after declaring his intention to run for a congressional post in the 2022 elections.

Artes also served as the MMDA’s assistant general manager for finance and administration.

On October 1, Garcia resigned from his post as he intends to run as representative of Rizal province's 3rd District.

"Magbibitaw na po ako bilang general manager ng MMDA, effective October 4, dahil may intensyon po akong tumakbo bilang kauna-unahang mambabatas ng ikatlong distrito ng Rizal, ang San Mateo po," Garcia previously said in a virtual press briefing.
