Chavit Singson backs out from vice gubernatorial race ‘for the sake of family’

Narvacan Mayor Luis "Chavit" Singson withdrew from the vice gubernatorial race in Ilocos Sur to settle family issues due to politics.

Both Chavit and his son Ilocos Sur Governor Ryan Singson had filed COCs to run for vice governor under the Bileg Party.

It was also revealed that Ryan's wife, Patch Savellano-Singson, also backed out from the Ilocos Sur governor race to give way to Jerry Singson, Chavit's brother, and former running mate.

"Masaya ako dahil maayos na si Gov. Ryan at Ronald. Kalimutan lahat for the sake of the family," Singson wrote in a Facebook post, referring to Ronald, his son, who is seeking a congressional seat.

(I am happy that Governor Ryan and Ronald are okay. Let us forget everything for the sake of family.)

"Magandang nangyari dito. Naayos natin lahat. For the sake of Family," he added.

(This is a welcome development. We fixed everything for the sake of the family.)

Chavit also said his sons Ryan and Ronald are already talking to each other amid the supposed rift in their family due to politics.

"Maraming intriga sa politics. Masaya ako na nag-uusap na yung dalawang magkapatid," he pointed out.

(There are many intrigues in politics. I am happy that my sons are talking to each other.)
