Duterte: Sara running for president, Senator Go her VP

Davao Mayor Sara Duterte will run for president, and Senator Christopher “Bong” Go will be her running mate in Eleksyon 2022, President Rodrigo Duterte said Saturday.

In a report on “24 Oras Weekend,” Duterte was asked to confirm if the Sara-Go tandem was a go after the senator filed his certificate of candidacy for vice president.

“Sara-Go na,” Duterte said.

When asked when Sara will file her COC, Duterte said he “did not know.”

Sara earlier announced that she has filed her COC for reelection as Davao City mayor, moments after Go filed his COC for vice president.

Go had offered to be Sara’s running mate should she decide to run.

On Saturday, Duterte also announced that he is retiring from politics. —LBG, GMA News
