Duterte names new Westmincom, Viscom chiefs
President Rodrigo Duterte has named Major General Alfredo Rosario, Jr. of the Philippine Army as the new Commander of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Western Mindanao Command, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana confirmed Wednesday.
Rosario, whose appointment takes effect on September 14, replaced Lieutenant General Corleto Vinluan, Jr.
Rosario, based on Philippine Army records, is a graduate of the Philippine Military Class of 1988, formerly served as the Philippine Army 7th Infrantry Division Commander.
Likewise, President Duterte also named Major General Robert Dauz of the Philippine Army as the new Commander of the AFP Visayas Command, also effective September 14.
Dauz will take over from Lieutenant General Roberto Ancan.
Dauz also belongs to PMA Class of 1988 and previously served as the Vice Commander of the Philippine Army. — BM, GMA News
