Over 23,700 people affected by Typhoon Kiko —NDRRMC

At least 6,315 families or 23,702 individuals were affected by Typhoon Kiko, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Monday.

In its latest report, the NDRRMC added said the affected regions were Ilocos, Cagayan, Central Luzon, and Cordillera.

Around 508 families or 1,789 people were staying in 62 evacuation centers, while 785 families or 2,094 persons were taking temporary shelter in the homes of their relatives and friends.

At least two houses were reported partially damaged in Cagayan.

The NDRRMC also said 11 roads are still not passable, while 16 roads and one bridge that were previously affected are now passable.

Power interruptions were reported in at least four cities and towns, the council said. Water supply problems were also encountered in an area in Cagayan.

Communication services issues were reported in six cities and towns in the same region, the NDRRMC also said.

At least 93 passengers were stranded in Ilocos, Cagayan, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Soccsksargen, and Cordillera

Around 29 classes and 29 work schedules were suspended in Cagayan due to the threat of the typhoon, the NDRRMC said.
