Meralco suspends disconnection activities in areas under MECQ

The Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) on Saturday announced that it will suspend service disconnection activities in areas under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) until the end of August.

Meralco said disconnection activities will be suspended from August 21 to 31 in the National Capital Region (NCR) and Laguna.

“Disconnection activities are also suspended in other areas earlier placed under MECQ particularly Bulacan, Cavite, Rizal, and Lucena City until August 31, 2021,” it said.

For customers in areas under general community quarantine, the power distribution utility said it will “continue to be very considerate during this period and vowed to assist customers with their concerns.”

“Meralco will continue vital operations such as meter reading, bill delivery, and service crews will continue work around the clock to serve its customers,” it said. —Ted Cordero/LBG, GMA News
