Yellow card applicants showing fake documents will have passport revoked, BOQ warns

Yellow card applicants showing fake documents will have passport revoked, BOQ warns

Applicants of yellow cards or International Certificate of Vaccination and Prophylaxis (ICVP) will face harsh penalties if their submitted documents are forged or fake, the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) warned on Sunday.

BOQ Deputy Director Dr. Roberto Salvador said they placed measures to make sure that applying for the yellow cards will not present fake requirements.

"Puwede ma-revoke ang passport niyo or matanggal sa trabaho (Their passport could be revoked or they could be fired from their jobs)," he said in an interview on Dobol B TV.

The BOQ had previously announced that there is a rising demand for the yellow card or ICVP, which is a document used by BOQ to indicate vaccines taken by an individual. This document, which is recognized by the World Health Organization, may be presented to their country of destination.

Filipinos' demand for the yellow cards increased after Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. bared that some overseas Filipino workers were already jabbed but Hong Kong refused to honor vaccine certificates from the Philippines because they are not connected from a single source. —KG, GMA News
