Isko Moreno set to join Vico Sotto's Aksyon Demokratiko, says party exec
Manila Mayor Isko Moreno is set to join Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto's party Aksyon Demokratiko on Thursday, an official of the party has said.
Ernest Ramel Jr., Aksyon Demokratiko secretary general, said Moreno would take his oath before Atty. Robbie Pierre Roco, son of party founder, the late Senator Raul Roco.
Sotto is the party's executive vice president.
Moreno already left the National Unity Party, Ramel said.
Senate President Vicente Sotto III, Vico's uncle, announced in July that the Nationalist People's Coalition would finalize its coalition with Aksyon Demokratiko.
Sotto has indicated that he would run for vice president as the running mate of Senator Panfilo Lacson.
Moreno in June said he was running in Eleksyon 2022 but refused to say for what position.
In the presidential preference survey OCTA Research conducted in July, Moreno ranked third behind Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte and former Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. —NB, GMA News
