NBI launches online renewal of clearance, delivery service

Filipinos may now renew their NBI clearance without having to leave their residences.

Applicants for NBI Clearance may renew and pay the necessary fees by accessing the website https://clearance.nbi.gov.ph/.

An applicant has the option to personally claim the document from the NBI Clearance Center, designate somebody to pick it up, or avail of the door-to-door delivery service.

The National Bureau of Investigation said an applicant who availed of the delivery service is expected to receive the document within three to seven days in Metro Manila and Luzon and seven to 10 days in Visayas and Mindanao.

A person who gets a “hit” status, however, has to personally appear before the NBI office to verify whether he is the person with a criminal record or not.

“Through our new online portal, more Filipinos will find it much easier to obtain the NBI Clearance that they need,” NBI Deputy Director Ferdinand Lavin said at a press briefing on Thursday.

“With the ongoing pandemic, the public will find it more to their advantage and safety to renew their NBI Clearance online instead of going out and opting for a face-to-face transaction.”

Lavin also assured the public that the data provided to the NBI would be safe and secure. —NB, GMA News
