First 2 attack helicopters to arrive in September —DND

The first batch of the T-129 attack helicopters purchased by the Philippines from Turkey is set to arrive in September, the Department of National Defense (DND) said Tuesday.

“Based on latest developments, we are expecting the first two units of T-129 Attack Helicopters for the Philippine Air Force to be delivered this September,” DND spokesperson Arsenio Andolong said in a statement.

Andolong said the Philippines purchased six T-129 helicopters from the Turkish Aerospace Industries for around $269.3 million.

Two more helicopters are expected to be delivered in February 2022, while the remaining two are set to be delivered in February 2023. — Joahna Lei Casilao/BM, GMA News
