One Hospital Command Center needs more call-takers, coordinators
After being swamped with calls due to the dramatic surge of COVID-19 infections, the One Hospital Command Center needs up to 50 call-takers and coordinators to help refer patients to hospitals.
According to Bernadette Reyes' 24 Oras report on Monday, the country's referral system for health care providers and medical transportation had been receiving an average of 300 to 350 calls per day.
These did not include the requests received on the One Hospital social media page.
Dr. Bernadette Velasco, operations manager of the referral center, said that those applying to be call-takers and coordinators must be college graduates of good moral character.
Have a medical background would be an advantage, Velasco added.
Applicants must also be aware that the job is stressful as they will not be able to work from home, and they will have to deal with a significant number lot of agitated callers and relatives.
However, call-takers and coordinators will be stress debriefed after dealing with particularly distressed patients and callers.
Call-takers and coordinators at One Hospital Command Center will receive a monthly salary of P20,000.
