Davao City judges, Palace official among candidates for next Deputy Ombudsman for Mindanao
Five individuals, including two Davao City-based judges and a Malacañang official, are vying to become the next Deputy Ombudsman for Mindanao, according to a list of applicants released by the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC).
They are Davao City Regional Trial Court Judges Rowena Apao-Adlawan and Mario Duaves, as well as Presidential Management Staff Undersecretary Anderson Lo.
The other applicants are Assistant Ombudsman for Mindanao Maria Iluminada Lapid-Viva and Ombudsman Director Beda Epres.
The applicants will face an online interview by the JBC on April 28 as part of the process to determine who will be included in the shortlist of nominees to replace Rodolfo Elman, whose term ended on March 13.
The JBC, meanwhile, is still accepting documentary requirements from applicants for the position of Deputy Ombudsman for Military and Other Law Enforcement Agencies, which will be vacated by Cyril Ramos on May 6.
The successors of Elman and Ramos will be appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte. --Virgil Lopez/KBK, GMA News
