Sara, Grace, Pacquiao top OCTA presidential poll

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte topped the survey conducted by OCTA Research on the Filipinos' preference for next president, according to Ian Cruz’s report on "24 Oras" reported on Monday.

Coming in second choice was Senator Grace Poe followed by Senator Manny Pacquiao.

 

The survey was conducted among 1,200 respondents from January 26 to February 1 by the polling, research and consulting firm, which has done studies on COVID-19 cases in the country.

The survey question was: “Narito naman po ang listahan ng maaaring kumandidato sa pagka-Presidente ng Pilipinas sa Mayo 2022 eleksyon.  Kung ang eleksyon ay gaganapin ngayon at ang kandidatong ito ang tatakbo sa pagka-Presidente, sino sa kanila ang pinakamalamang na iboboto ninyo?  Maari po kayong pumili ng isa sa mga pangalan dito.”

In the vice president race, Duterte also emerged number one followed by Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Pacquiao.

 

In the Senate race, the OCTA poll showed that 20 of the 36 names listed have statistical chance of making it in the Top 12.

Ranjit Singh Rye of OCTA said the team expects the results to change when the official list of candidates is released by the Commission on Elections close to the 2022 polls.—LDF, GMA News
