PNP records 34 new COVID-19 cases


The Philippine National Police on Tuesday reported 34 additional cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections among its employees to 10,253.

Latest data from the PNP showed that total recoveries rose to 9,618 after 42 more personnel recovered from the illness.

The death toll, meanwhile, remained at 29.

So far, there are 606 active COVID-19 cases within the police organization.

Nationwide, cases of COVID-19 hit 528,853 on Tuesday including 10,874 fatalities.

There are also 30,368 active cases undergoing treatment or quarantine.

Vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. said supply agreements for five COVID-19 vaccines will be completed by the end of the month.
